If you are looking for a bike, a great place to go to find one is a bike shop. But once you get there, you will see there is a whole lot more to bike shops than just bikes.

Here are some other items that you can find at a bike shop:

• Clothing – If you are seriously planning to get into biking, you may have noticed there are certain types of clothing that most bikers wear. Considering the fact that it is the most common material worn by bikers, spandex is all over the place in these stores. The spandex prevents a rider’s clothing from getting caught on equipment on the bike and lessens wind resistance.

• Helmets - Many states require that children wear bike helmets. Therefore if you need helmets, the bike shop is a great place to go. Likewise, if you are looking for helmets for yourself, they definitely should have your size as well. Studies show that the use of helmets greatly decreases the chance of head trauma in the event that an accident occurs.

Both of these items, as well as hundreds of other items can be found at most every bike shop.
