Bike Tires

Regardless of the kind of bike you have, there are certain specifications to which bike tires must adhere.

For example:

• Mountain bikes - The bike tires on mountain bikes are going to be a lot different from the tires on other kinds of bikes. The mountain bike tires are usually thicker and have more traction on them. This allows them to be able to grab hold of the mountain and trails better.

• Road bikes - Bikes you use to race or ride on the road are going to have different bike tires than mountain bikes do. In fact, these tires are usually very thin and very smooth. These tires do not need the same amount of traction since they are not going to be used to ride over trails and mountains.

Bike tires are always included when you buy a bike, but this does not mean that you have to use the tires that come with the bike. Changing out these tires soon after the bike is purchased is a common practice.
